OUTDOOR MARCH BREAK CAMP

OUTDOOR MARCH BREAK CAMP

KINDERGARTEN - GRADE 8

Spend your March Break in the great outdoors with our March Break program! Explore the outdoors while learning about different aspects of nature in this fun program dedicated to getting kids outside.

Activities are weather dependent and may include: ice skating, tobogganing, rock climbing, exploring and more! The weather will determine the kind of outdoor fun the group has!

Please note, each day at this program is at a location within approximately a 30-minute drive of Guelph. Participants must be able to be dropped off at the location each day. Daily locations depend on factors including anticipated weather, COVID-19 protocols, and conservation park regulations - because of this, last minute changes can happen. Pick-up location will be the same as that morning's drop-off point.

Past locations include:
- Terra Cotta Conservation Area
- Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area
- The Guelph Grotto Climbing Gym
- Guelph Lake Conservation Area
- Rockwood

Registration not yet open for 2023

FOREST SCHOOL

FOREST SCHOOL

JUNIOR KINDERGARTEN - GRADE 8

The Guelph Grotto is now offering an educational program to supplement online, in-class, and homeschool learning. Our Forest School immerses children in nature, focuses on experiential learning, social development and staying physically and emotionally fit. Through interaction with nature kids will learn and develop socially, foster self-confidence, learn respect for the environment, and enjoy the outdoors in a safe and appropriate way.

Forest School will help bring wellness and joy to your child’s day!  Free outdoor exploration builds confidence and lets kids learn at their own pace.  Kids will get the opportunity to immerse in nature with all their senses.  Sensory play is important for children’s development and helps them make sense of their relationship with the world around them.

Each day is a new experience. Kids will learn about local environments through exploration and free-play under the guidance of qualified Career Outdoor Educators. Locations will include green spaces in and around Guelph, and the Guelph Grotto Climbing Gym.

We are excited to bring this opportunity to the Guelph Grotto community! Contact outdoor@guelphgrotto.com with any questions.

The Guelph Grotto is situated on the territories of the HaudenosauneeAnishinabewaki ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᐗᑭAttiwonderonk (Neutral)Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, and Mississauga. Guelph’s colonial borders also hold history of the Haldimand Treaty of 1784Treaty 3 of 1792, and Anishinaabe language. The Guelph Grotto profits and operates on land that we acknowledge and respect as Indigenous to what is currently Canada. We recognize the importance of listening and learning about colonization, both historically and how colonialism manifests today, so that we may take actions which contribute to healing relationships in Canada - between peoples, land, and communities.
