Grotto Fundamentals is an intermediate adult bouldering technique course. It’s been designed for those who have been experimenting with climbing on their own and would like to learn new techniques to help break into the intermediate (blue/red) boulder range. Learning new techniques can help to break through plateaus and soar to the top of a problem more efficiently.
This six-week course will cover a different topic each week, including footwork techniques, strategies to use different hand holds, techniques to coordinate your body to generate dynamic movement, and strategies to read and solve a boulder problem.

The Guelph Grotto offers a variety of climbing experiences and lessons available for all skills levels. The Just Climb package is a great way to get into climbing, and is perfect for getting family and friends together - we handle the ropes, you do the climbing! If you're new to climbing and looking for a way to try it out before jumping in head-first, our Just Climb package is perfect for you. We'll pair you (and your friends, family, etc.!) up with a staff belayer, who will handle the ropes and offer you tips throughout an hour of climbing.
Our Just Climb packages can be booked privately or are available for larger groups, and are tailored by the instructors to meet the needs and experience of the participants.
Harness rental included.

Tired of the old 'dinner and a movie' routine? Looking to inject something fresh and fun into your date night routine? The Guelph Grotto has you covered.
Rock climbing is a great way to spend time with your partner (romantic or otherwise!), challenge yourself, and reach new heights!
Our date night package is an easy introduction to the sport if you've never tried it before. The session includes harness and shoe rentals, as well as an hour of climbing. Choose to have a staff belayer who can handle all of the belaying on our roped climbs, or boulder and auto-belay yourselves. Thanks to our neighbours and friends at Royal City Brewing Co. you can recoup from your climbing session with a refreshing brew (included, must be 19+ to book).

Come hang upside-down in Aerial Silks at The Grotto.
We have a range of class levels designed for the complete beginner to the advanced aerial student. We’ll help you develop upper body and core strength, improve flexibility, and tap into your creativity - all while having fun in a supportive, encouraging environment.

If you withdraw from a session before the first class, you will be refunded the amount you paid minus a 10% (of total cost of session) administrative fee.

A trapeze is a metal bar with two ropes hung from two points (static trapeze) or one point (dance trapeze). Beginners will learn foundational skills like mounts, hangs, balances, and seated and standing poses. Intermediate students will incorporate more challenging and dynamic moves like beats, drops and rolls. Everyone will develop their creativity, discover transitions and create sequences!
These classes will help students build strength, stability and flexibility with a focus on proper technique and safety. Classes are mixed-level and open to all experience levels.
